# Vsevolod the Big Nest (1176)

Vsevolod III won the throne of Vladimir in 1176 and ruled for 36 years. He dominated Ryazan and Novgorod, and other princes acknowledged his seniority. His many sons founded the princely houses of north-eastern Rus'. Under Vsevolod, Vladimir-Suzdal became the leading power of Rus'.
