Lenin returned from Swiss exile via Germany in a sealed train and arrived at Petrograd's Finland Station on 16 April 1917 (N.S.). His April Theses demanded 'All power to the Soviets', an end to the war and no support for the Provisional Government. Germany facilitated his journey to weaken Russia's war effort. The April Theses set the Bolsheviks on the path to seizing power.
